What is a Digital Worker and why is it not just AI?
what is nodus
Most executives have tried AI.
They’ve written a prompt. They’ve generated a text. They’ve asked for a summary.
And often the conclusion is:
“Interesting, but it doesn’t transform the company.”
They are right.
Because a prompt is not a Digital Worker.
Level 1: The Prompt
A prompt is a one-off instruction.
“Summarize this document.” “Draft this email.” “Create a commercial proposal.”
It’s useful. It’s fast. But it is individual and fragmented.
A prompt is a personal tool. It is not corporate infrastructure.
- It depends on the person using it.
- It is not integrated into any process.
- It leaves no lasting structure.
Level 2: AI Automation
The next step is to automate.
For example:
Here, there is already integration with processes.
But it remains reactive and limited.
It is an operational improvement. It is not a structural change.
- 01When a lead comes in → automatically generate an email.
- 02When an incident occurs → classify it.
- 03When a meeting ends → generate a summary.
- 01It works based on specific triggers.
- 02It has no defined responsibility.
- 03It is not part of a global architecture.
Level 3: The Digital Worker
A Digital Worker is different.
It is not a one-off action. It is not an automated rule.
It is a digital work unit with a defined role within the organization.
For example:
It has:
- 01Responsible for internal sales follow-up.
- 02Responsible for generating executive reports.
- 03Responsible for first-level support.
- 04Responsible for analyzing operational deviations.
- 01An objective.
- 02A framework for action.
- 03System integration.
- 04Supervision.
- 05Impact metrics.
